Q: Do you make custom clothing or costumes?

A: This is something I do NOT do anymore, except for close friends and family on rare occasions!! I recommend Red Lunar Moon for custom works, especially if you are located near Edmonton :]

Q:What are your rates for hair services?

A:I charge $10 per hour of work on your head or dreads, whether it be for installing extensions, maintaining natural dreads, modifying your falls or extensions, etc. Check the services page in the shop for a few details on services i commonly do.

Q:Will you give me dread advice?

A:Usually. :] I've started a lot of natural dreads and installed a lot of extensions. I have learned a few things by trial and error. I'm not going to guarantee my advice, but I will chat with you.

Q: How do you make your dreadlocks?

A:I'm not going to go into a step by step of my exact method. But I will give a few details of the things i do. My synthetic dreads are sealed in two stages, first with boiling water and then again with a steam gun. The longest frizzies are trimmed away and the tips are trimmed and clear nail polish is applied. My tips are variable; they can be quite blunt and sealed with clear nail polish (this seems to be the best varnish, it doesn't attract dirt, it's long lasting and easily retouched). i vary the style based on customer preference or on my own whims for premades.

Wool dreads are felted by palm rolling using hot water and a naturally derived dish soap - unless hot water only is requested. the tips can be skinnier or blunter by request. Wool wraps are wrapped and then felted.

Dreads are generally stitched to weave clips, glued and stitched to bobby pins, barettes, or contour clips. Falls are not knotted around hair elastics or ribbons, nor are they attached with small rubber bands; rather they are folded over and then wrapped at the base with thread or embroidery thread. It lasts much longer - and you can still snip the threads to detach the dreads from a broken elastic or to install them as extensions.

Falls can be attached to single hair elastics, ribbons, long elastic strips, braids or twists of yarn, or doubled elastics with ties of ribbon or yarn.

Q: Do you smoke or have pets?

A:I do have cats and dogs in my home; my dreadlocks are generally stored in plastic or other sealed bags unless they are being worked on. If you have smoke or pet allergies, please let me know when ordering so that I can take extra caution not to expose your dreads to allergens.

Q: How long do i have to wait for services/custom orders?

A: For custom orders, expect a wait time of about two months, including shipping time. However, this can vary greatly depending on the project's complexity and my busy-ness level! Some projects can be finished in one week, if you are a local customer or willing to drop a lot on extra fast shipping!!

As for hair services, that depends heavily on my availability also, it could be tomorrow, but I may need to get supplies for you or I may be out of town or busy. Just email me!

Q: Will you rush my order?

A: Yes, if it's possible, but expect to pay more for shipping. If you need something rushed, please email me (lain @ nothingwhat.net)... Do not order through the online shop.

Q: What are the terms of shipping?

A: I will ship your item a maximum of three business days after your payment clears. Everything is, by default, shipped thru regular post. If you want express shipping, courier, or insurance, please request it via email or in the notes of your order. nothingwhat is NOT responsible for items lost in the mail!

The approximate shipping prices for a full set of extensions or falls is $15 regardless of your location. Differences in weight and volume can alter this.

Q: What is the return policy?

A: Returns will be accepted for 30 days after purchase. if you are unsatisfied with your purchase for a proveable reason, then i will gladly refund your money (by the same method as originally paid) providing the item is first returned and can be revamped and resold. Deposits on custom hair are non-refundable, sorry! Only about half of a custom order will be refunded, unless you have an extremely good reason.
